CPO GLOBAL FORUM IN ITALY

Emptoris to Present on "Best Practices in Benchmarking" as Part of Spend Analysis and Strategic Sourcing Sessions

London, UK and Milan, Italy  – (June 11, 2009) -  Emptoris, a global leader in supply and contract management solutions, today announced that the company will be presenting on "Best Practices in Benchmarking" in spend analysis and strategic sourcing at the Economist's CPO Global Forum in Milan, Italy in June.  Lorenzo Laurelli, Consulting Services Director, with Emptoris in Italy, will present as part of the "Spend Analysis, Negotiation, and Strategic Sourcing" session held on June 17th, 2009, at the Marriott Hotel in Milan, Italy. 

The theme of this year's CPO Global Forum is "Turning the economic crisis into an opportunity to improve purchasing and supply chain management."  Within that theme, Laurelli and a panel of experts will examine how businesses that are considered Procurement Masters are able to uncover savings opportunities, execute against their savings strategy, and deliver and prove tangible results to the business.  Laurelli of Emptoris will specifically present on:

• How to successfully plan for and manage automated spend analysis programs
• How to act on the ‘hidden gem' opportunities uncovered through effective spend analysis
• How to extend the use of spend analysis to deliver true supply management performance visibility
